Transformatons of local names in Prague 6

14. Summary This Bachelor Thesis focuses on the names of streets and squares of Prague 6. In the first few chapters, the author describes the history of street naming in general from 1770 until 2013. Furthermore, the work addresses the main reasons for renaming streets in Prague 6, which are mostly based on historical and/or social events and changes in the scope of Prague territory. The central part of this thesis contains the current list of streets and squares of Prague 6 accompanied by information about particular name changes occuring during the 20th and 21st century. The total of 662 streets and squares is arranged in alphabetical order according to their affiliation to various parts of the Prague 6 municipality. Additionally, streets are classified by naming motivation into several categories, which further discuss the origin of the names and their lexical form. The results showed that the street names of Prague 6 are mostly in nominative or genitive form and the most common motivation for their naming follows from the street location. The research carried out by the means of questionnaires shows that the most popular unofficial name used in Prague 6 is "Kulaťák" (replacing the official name Vítězné náměstí). Besides, the questionnaire revealed a few dozens of other popular colloquial street names....

The aim of the bachelor thesis is a summary and analysis of current files of the local and place names in the town of Rokycany and its surrounding areas. The material used was obtained by field research that was carried out in several villages in the district of Rokycany. The work includes delimitation and characteristics of the researched territory, a description of typical characteristic features of the local and place names, its categorisation and analysis of the gathered material.
Analysis of onomastics material in Jiratice

This diploma thesis extends the bachelor thesis research that analysed whether and what characteristic features appear in ordinary language of native speaker who come from Jiratice. The goal of this thesis is linguistic analysis of official, unofficial personal names, minorplace and local names in Jiratice or in its nearby vicinity. These names are collected from written sources and from interviews with witnesses. The collected material is organized into a dictionary that analyses primarily the motivation of each name. The complex of names is also classified according to various criteria. The aim of the diploma thesis is to contribute partially to the Czech onymic research.
